Our hope is that all dogs born into this world will one day find a home that provides as much
unconditional love and affection as they do. And although it is not realistic that all dogs can
be treated and cared for adequately, we like to commend our adoption parents that have
found a place in their heart to dedicate a little time and responsibility to welcome "man's best
friend" into their home. Undoubtedly, each new adoptive parent will find that in return for
their effort, they will come to understand the value of a four-legged friend who will love,
protect, and cherish their companionship more than ever.
The following are dogs that have been rescued by either the group sponsoring this website,
or others who have adopted from a shelter or other rescue group. We welcome you to
submit your "happy tail" to be posted. If interested, please e-mail us with a picture and brief
(100 words or less) story.
To future applicants/owners:  the screening process and fee may seem unnecessary, but this is a serious problem and she is only
looking out for the best interests of the future owner and his future best friend. Even as her daughter, I didn’t get any special treatment. If
you do adopt one of these beautiful dogs, please make sure that you give them everything that they need and you will get a return 10
fold – a TV set, cable, or a case of beer will NEVER give you that!
Geisha (left) was probably one of Geri’s first rescues about 6 years ago, when she was discharged from a family that didn’t want her
anymore. While they had her, she was abused by them, but thankfully she ended up in the arms of Geri. Geisha was given to me
because she has trusted me from the first time we met and I love her and enjoy her each and everyday. She fits in perfectly with the rest
of our animals, especially the cats.
I only wish that people would stop throwing away these precious animals, but it is what it is and thankfully, there are people like Geri
that refuse to let this continue. I love you! T

Soxx and Erik  (right) first met the first time Norm and Geri met Erik, my boyfriend. I knew the moment Soxx walked in the room he was
going home with us. As you can see, the two are a perfect pair and Soxx is probably the best dog I have ever owned. Soxx is the
“general” of our pack – we have a total of 10 dogs, all of which found their way to our home. He trains each one and makes sure they
maintain a peaceful environment.
"We are excited to announce the adoption of our new family
member...Miss Lucy Surles

Lucy was abandoned (fortunately for her) near the home of some
very dear friends of ours,  Bill and Grace Black.  Bill and Grace fed,
loved and cared for Lucy (along with 2 other strays) for several
weeks.....Then she was struck by a car, while they were not home.
She was thought to be dead as she disappeared for several days,
and then appeared on Grace and Bill's door, with a whiplash type
injury.  They took her in, took her to the Vet, and nursed her back to
health.  Thanks to Grace and Bill for their love!

They then discovered an Animal Angel, Geri Cutway.  Geri has a
wonderful network and the ability to place animals in good homes,
and saving them.
Geri is a special and unique woman, devoted to saving dogs and
currently has
26 that she has rescued.  Geri took Miss Lucy, nurtured her, has
gotten her spayed, shots and is ready for us to adopt her.

If you are interested in a pet who has not had the best of life before
meeting Geri and needs a nurturing and good home....pls visit
animal-angels.org.  There is also a place to make a donation to
Geri's efforts as most of the financial burden comes back to her.
So if you are looking for an awesome pet, visit the website...or if
you just want to open your heart, make a contribution."

"Geri:

Thank you so much for the picture.  I am anxiously awaiting Gary’s
arrival at my office so I can meet my new baby!  I did call him about
12:30 p.m. and he said Ozzy (as we’re going to call him because
our son Jake will be able to say it better than Oscar) was laying in
the back enjoying the ride.  I can hardly wait!  Thanks you for being
so kind and for having this wonderful dog for adoption.  I will
definitely keep you advised of how he’s doing and will send
pictures.  We take a lot of pictures of our “kids.”  Thanks again,
Ellie Mae was adopted by a young couple at Fort Jackson and is
doing well. I need to check back with them again.  They were
thrilled with the little fox

" I hope this email gets to you Gerry. My name is Autumn
Rodriguez my husband and I adopted Ellie Mae. I got your letter
and thought I'd send you an update on her. She is still doing great.
Getting smarter and smarter every day, and she still loves giving
lots of kisses. She has a new buddy to hang out with while my
husband and I are at work. That buddy is my sister's cat. At first, I
kept them separated, but the cat decided to escape and roam the
house freely. Luckily, Ellie Mae was a good girl (as usual) and they
both get along well. Thank you again for completing our family. I
am so happy to have her, and I know she is happy to finally have a
home."

Here are some cute pictures of Cassie. She is doing great. I took
her to get her shots, nails clipped and dipped for fleas and ticks.
Thanks for the wonderful addition to our family. We love love her
very much already!

Hi, we made it through the first night although he didn't each much.
(How much do you feed him a day?).He really does believe he's a
poodle. He wouldn't get out of my lap last night. He doesn't seem
to want to detach himself from my leg but I'm sure that will fade
once he becomes more comfortable here. You said he stayed in a
room by himself right? That didn't work. I put him in the spare
bedroom and he barked until I let him out. Then he decided he
should sleep in our bed. I did however win that battle. He is still
chewing on himself sometimes quite vigorously; do you think it
could be like a hot spot or something? We had a dog before that
had them at times. Anyway, he seems to be settling in; just thought
I'd give you an update.
Beau......now called "Boo". "..He is just what I wanted. He hugs and
cuddles and we all love him. ....Most of the time he is right there
where we (especially me!) are hanging out around the house.
He loves car rides too! He is a very loyal and special dog.  Thanks
for all you do !!!!"
Sincerely,   Georgia

Hi, Geri -- I just wanted to let you know how Imogene is doing. We
call her Emma, and she is a wonderful, sweet girl. She seems to
be really quite at home at this point and loves her daily walks.
She's been to the vets for a well-check and toe nail clip. The vet
proclaimed her a great dog!

We are in the midst of obedience training, and what a smart girl
she is! She has learned hand and voice commands for sitting,
staying and coming. Of course, the treats after each practice
session make it a lot more fun. She also loves to go into the yard
with us and run, run, run back and forth between me and Gary at
full speed.

Anyway, just thought you'd like a progress report on this wonderful
dog you shared with us.

Update - "Emma is fine. We walk everyday- usually a couple of
miles. I also try to get her to the local soccer field and/or park a
couple of times a week so that she can run like the wind - which
she does quite well! She has just completed her training and can
come on command and sit and stay and lay down and sometimes
stay laying down! We are getting an invisible fence for our front
yard so that she can run a bit more at home."
Hi Geri
We want to thank you for our new puppy.  He is so sweet.  We
named him Rufus.  Yesterday afternoon he watched the Carolina -
Clemson game (well he napped most of the time), played outside
and explored around, met our Chihuahua and our Chicken, Miss
Patty.  He wasn't real sue about Miss Patty.  My Daughter and son
in law and grandson (who is 14) came over to see him and
brought him some little chew biscuits.  We got the food he was
used to eating, puppy chow for large breeds, got his new food and
water bowls and a new toy.   Phil has been letting him ride in the
truck while he hauls straw and he is going with us this afternoon to
meet my mom.  He slept in our bed between us last night and
slept all night.  He only whimpered a little yesterday when he
wanted to go outside and has already decided he likes to lay in
front of the back door which is in our living room.  You have done
such a wonderful job.  He seems to be adjusting very well, playing
hard when we're  outside and cuddling with us when inside.  Phil
is taking him to meet our Vet tomorrow.  Phil wants to talk to Dr.
Houston and set up Rufus' health plan and have him
microchipped.  Thanks again for our new little baby.  We just adore
him.                                                          Linda Frye
Geri,

Molly is about 35 pounds and I do not think she will get to much
bigger she really has slowed down, but i suspect she will have at
least one more growth kick. She is a very smart dog, and has been
pretty quick to learn things. I am very happy where she is at and we
are doing training later this year with petsmart so she can
hopefully expand her vocabulary. Again thanks for everything and
yes please send me the family that has Buddy email address. I
would love to contact them.

Hi Geri, Not sure what he weighs now. About 6 weeks ago he was
81 lbs. Jach loves to go to camp and swim with Hazel. He also
loves his pool. He loves to bury his treats outside in the woods, lol.
He is more andventerous than Hazel and loves to bark at us when
he wants something. Michelle
