Home Adopt a Dog Memorials Adoptions 2010 Adoptions 2008-2009 Adoptions Archive
Our hope is that all dogs born into this world will one day find a home that provides as much
unconditional love and affection as they do. And although it is not realistic that all dogs can
be treated and cared for adequately, we like to commend our adoption parents that have
found a place in their heart to dedicate a little time and responsibility to welcome "man's best
friend" into their home. Undoubtedly, each new adoptive parent will find that in return for
their effort, they will come to understand the value of a four-legged friend who will love,
protect, and cherish their companionship more than ever.
The following are dogs that have been rescued by either the group sponsoring this website,
or others who have adopted from a shelter or other rescue group. We welcome you to
submit your "happy tail" to be posted. If interested, please e-mail us with a picture and brief
(100 words or less) story.
2004
Bandit and Euripides (Rip for short) are brothers that were
adopted by a family with a large heart. The boys were the last 2
of a litter of 9 and it was too difficult to split them. The family of 6
children assured me they would never go without food or love.
They moved to an 8 Acre home in Minnesota and are having
the time of their lives. Being of Great Dane linage, they needed
room to run and certainly have that now. They were adopted on
3-27-04.
Blaze was adopted at 4 months of age to a young couple with
an infant who loved to go to the River on the weekends. Lucky
for Blaze, because he loved to run and play. His first time at the
River he jumped right in ...fearless! This young Dane always
had a gentle nature and sleeps in the baby's room as a
protector. He was adopted on 2-14-04.
Buffy, short for Buffington, was adopted on 10-02-04. He was
adopted by a member of the armed forces and family at Fort
Jackson, S.C. Buffy loves playing with their sons and other dog.
With all the love in this home, Buffy fit right in. Jody, who you
can see on our adoption page, is Buffy's sister and is waiting
for a nice family like her brother's.
Cappy we thought to be a Chow Chow mix was adopted on
3-20-04 to a family with 2 children that love her dearly. She also
entered a home with 2 cats and has won their affection as well
as the humans in the family. Cappy is now called Cocoaand is
happily and healthfully growing in a loving environment.
Winnie was born along with 8 brothers and sisters. She won
the heart of a young college co-ed on 3-06-04. Winnie now
leads a life of leisure. Winnie also lives with a sister as that
sweet young girl came and adopted another rescue pup from
us 2 weeks later.
Reeses (seen on your right playing with Lacey) was 1 of 5
puppies that were discarded in a box and picked-up by animal
control. He was named as such because this wirey-haired little
boy looked like chocolate over peanut butter. Reeses was
adopted on 7-31-04 by a girl in Camden, S.C. who said
Reeses reminded her of her childhood dog. He has since
been renamed Charley and as reported by his new owner, is
doing very well.
Gabrielle, also known as Gabby, is the sister of Lacey,
Reeses, Maxine, and Gizmo. Gabby was adopted on 7-17-04
by a couple planning to marry within the year. Gabby just
wagged her tail like the Energizer Bunny. It was love at first
sight.
Mittens (upper and lower left) and Tippy are sisters. Mittens
was named for her 4 white paws. Both have spirited
personalities...lively and loving! Mittens was adopted on
7-24-04 by a family in Columbia, S.C. The family said they were
looking for a playmate for their other pet, but it seemed Mittens
had chosen the young boy in the family as hers. Tippy was also
adopted by a family in Columbia.
Chloe (right) was adopted 3-06-04 by a physician and his wife
living in the Columbia, S.C. area. At the time, they also had a
Siberian Husky from whom Chloe needed to win approval. The
couple saw the loving, protective quality in Chloe. She indeed
won the Husky's heart and at last report, Chloe and the Husky
play and sleep together.
"Annabelle has turned out to be extremely sweet, obedient,
and loving. She loves attention and kisses! She and Linus
get along very well. They chase one another around the
house, play, bark, and fight over bones. They have a
routine every morning. I get up before Pierce and let the
girls out and feed them. I make them stay in the kitchen
with me until I’m ready to go upstairs and get dressed for
work. As soon as I open the kitchen door, Annabelle and
Linus make a mad dash for the stairs, each taking separate
routes. They race upstairs and jump in the bed with Pierce,
waking him up. We can’t imagine our lives without 'our girls.'
We are so fortunate to have two wonderful, beautiful girls.
They are full of so much love. Thank you so much for
Annabelle. She truly is a treasure."
Foxy Lady was named because of her red coloring and fox-like
face. She was adopted on 4-31-04 to a family with 2 little boys
who just adore her. Foxy and her family often take walks in the
woods and go fishing.
Cuddles was 1 of a litter of 9 (with Chloe, Bandit, Rip, Timmy,
Lil Bull, Winnie, Tasha, and Blaze). Cuddles had a hard
beginning. He had bite marks on his back which showed
where a larger dog had shook him, resulting in a hernia. After
surgery for the hernia, he developed rickets. With a couple of
leg braces, some high vitamins, and lots of love, Cuddles was
adopted on 2-21-04. This little guy is now Cuddly Tom and we
are sure that the love he receives is returned 10 fold.

Update!
Cuddles, now known as Tom, "...is doing great. He is in great
health weighing in at ninety pounds."
Lucky, a gorgeous Border Collie, found a home with some
USC co-eds in Columbia,S.C. and is living the college life to
the hilt.
"We have added Bun to her name…now Honey Bun.  She is
doing well and has gained a few more pounds.  The Vet
thought she wouldn’t be more than 28-30lbs.  She has finally
potty trained and is getting past chewing everything in the
house, that is the things we humans leave around for her to put
in her mouth.  She learned to bark and loves to bark at her
reflection. She still chases her tail, which makes us all laugh.
She had a very happy Christmas and was able to spend a
weekend with her dog cousin who came to visit.  The two of
them managed to “eat” her new toys and bones.  She loves
everyone who comes to play, dogs and people alike."

Cody is a Collie/ Golden Retriever mix that won the  heart of a
retired couple from Fort Jackson.  He was adopted  April of
2004.
2004, took over the couch and has been there ever
since. She is a happy girl and has a new brother,
Rocky. They are inseparable.  Rosie's life started with
being discarded because of an eye infection.
Unfortunately, we did not receive her until it was too
late to save the eye. Rosie recuperated, adapted and
has a wonderful new life. Her parents are looking for
land to build a new home and have room for the "kids"
to run. Lately, we heard from her new adoptive mom:
to teach her some tricks, but she's very stubborn. She
sits on occasion, but she does do five with her daddy.
When I met my fiancé she took to him right away. She
would rather see him than me. Her and Rocky get
along so well. He doesn't leave her side for too long."
"Bailey (left) is doing fine.  He has grown quite a bit, taller than
Sugar now(and around 60-65 lbs). He "loves" his sister Sugar,
this includes running around the yard with her, pushing her
around, and nibbling on her legs and ears.  I am enclosing a
recent picture of Bailey and Sugar.  Can you believe he is
almost 1 year old now?  ...he is still a big baby though(a sweet
heart)." -Bailey's new mom
"Gizmo is doing great. He has been such a wonderful addition
to our family. Our poodle has adjusted well, however, he is still
the boss! Gizmo, of course, is your typical puppy. Loves to
chew on anything he can get his mouth on. When we leave
home, we have to make sure all the bedroom and bathroom
doors are shut. We try to keep him well supplied in chew
bones and toys. Gizzy sleeps with me, my husband and our
poodle, Doogie. When he wants to go outside, he will go to the
front door and bark. If that doesn't work he will come to you and
bark putting his paw on your leg giving you that "I've got to go!"
look. He will also have conversations with you. (in his own
language of course) I'll just sit there and talk to him and if he's
in the mood he will just talk up a storm. Our longest
conversation has lasted about one and a half to two minutes."
  -Gizmo's new parents
This adorable little girl was Maxine when she was under our
care, but is now Sadie. She presently resides in Cleveland,
Ohio with a family who could not wait to get her home when
they saw her. At the time, Sadie was adopted from a location
within a pet store and her family spoiled her immediately with
goodies: a leash, matching collar, food and toys.
"Mark's Sugar" hardly made the entrance of our home when a
neighbor came to claim her. He couldn't leave her behind. She
is now one of his family of 6 dogs, but has the privilege of
sleeping in the "big bed."
2005
Jake, now Stewie, was adopted in August of 2005 to a young
gentleman in West Columbia who had fallen in love with him
from his picture. The two were a match like peaches and
cream.  Joe loves the outdoors and now has a playful pup who
also enjoys
the outdoors.  They both went to "Grandma's" house for the
holidays and to meet the new grandpuppy.

Update- "...Stewie is doing just fine here in Columbia. He's
actually got his head in my lap as I type this e-mail. He's got a
new friend now with which to play and I've found he loves
camping and (although he's not much of a swimmer) he's a
great boat dog. Stewie is still the sweetest dog I've ever been
around. He is wonderful around children, especially my 6-year
old autistic nephew, and even thought he is creeping up to the
90 pound range, he is incredibly gentle around toddlers and
babies. He still reminds me of a newborn wildebeast when he
plays and jumps, but once he gets moving, he appears full of
grace. He's made a great addition to my home and I can't thank
you enough.
Clydesdale was adopted on May 20th, 2005 by 2 young
teachers from Charlotte, NC. Upon last conversation,
Clydesdale was adjusting to going up and down stairs and
was using "dad's" feet as a pillow.
"We have actually renamed her and we call her "Foxy" because
she darts like a fox and we think she is a foxy little lady!!  We
are having such a good time with her. You will be very pleased
to know I believe she is adjusting well.  She continues to be a
little skiddish and has a tendency to cling more with me than
Pat.  I just attribute that to her being used to being around a
female.  While she has not taken over the bed she has
definitely won our hearts!  She does sleep on the floor right
beside my side of the bed!  I went to PetSmart last week and
spent over $100.00 buying chews, a leather collar, an engraved
nametag, shampoo, rawhide sticks, etc.!!  It was such fun!! Her
eating is good, and her little tail just wags and wags when she
sees me coming through door.  This weekend was really nice
because I was home with her all weekend so we had leisure
time for bonding!  And yes she will bark at things not familiar to
her which I am perfectly fine with.  We are doing really well and
I will continue to update you."
"...we all are doing well and Squirt is adjusting well.
Last night when we got home we walked him and
guess what....he found himself a frog to play with for a
while.  Last night he spent the night in the bed with
owner Earl and Wanda, dad stated that this morning
when they all woke up Squirt was on the edge just
sleeping. We have started the scrapbook for Squirt
last night as well and took a few photos of Squirt (he is
very likable to the camera).  He has met Bear (chow)
and Tootsie (Chihuahua) and they are trying to all
become friends and family..."
Bear is doing great . . . We start obedience classes next
Saturday that will continue for 8 weeks - the only habit we need
to break him of is jumping up on people. He doesn't realize his
strength. He's done very well with housetraining and has only
had one accident.  We went out yesterday and bought him
some tennis balls and toys and he's enjoyed fetching.  He has
a fetish for pillows which has proven to be quite comical.  Bear
can't go through a room without grabbing at least one and
throwing it up in the air. We switched him to Science Diet Lamb
and Rice food and he
loves it.  He finally ate really well on Thursday . . . up until that
point, he just picked at his food a little.  Bear starts out his
nights sleeping in my bed and eventually jumps down to his
bed on the floor so that he can stretch out.  I'd say that he has
definitely found his spot as part of our family.  Our hope is that
the love we feel for Bear will also be given to Oreo (our sweet
little poodle mix that is now with his new family). I think what
you do is wonderful and we are happy to say that we have
benefited from the hard/loving work that you do.
"Yes, we are spoiling Katie rotten, and we don't feel a
bit guilty about it.  She is healthy and happy, and she
seems to enjoy our routine, especially the morning
walks, though they are shorter these days since it has
been so hot.  She is eating well and sleeping through
the night, letting us decide when it's wakeup time.  She
already responds to Sit and Stay, though she doesn't
want to stay for long.  I've been teaching a class the
past three weeks, and I get a royal welcome home
every day from both my girls.  We haven't had much
occasion to take her for drives in the car; we'll see how
she likes it when we take her to the Vet for a checkup.
This weekend our two oldest grandchildren are coming
over to spend the night, and we are looking forward to
seeing how she gets along with them, but we don't
think we have reason to be worried.  She warmed up
quickly to our son when he stopped by the house
recently.  She is not warm with other dogs, though.
Maybe she is trying to protect us.  We'll work on that
with her."
Dusty was adopted by a staff member making a movie in Great
Falls, S.C. He and his fiance live outside Wilmington, N.C.
Dusty has been a great addition to their home and they are
filling his life with the love that had been missing in his past.
Shadow has been renamed Aristotle....Aris for short....his new
owner is a science lover. Liz was a little unsure of which pet
she wanted to go home with, but Aris
helped make-up her mind. After boarding Shadow here for a
week while on DHEC
assignment, Liz came to take Aris home. He ran straight for her
as though she were gone for months. They are inseparable.
"Tash is doing great. I stayed with her all day today while
Michelle ran the kids to basketball and such. I put the invisible
fence flags back up and still have the collar that Molly just never
had an opportunity to wear. I am going to start to work with
Tash in the next couple of days. I want to give her some more
time to adjust. I did already begin by walking the perimeter of
the yard. We have 1/2 acre and it is enough for some good
running with Lucy. Tash does just great on the leash. I think
once we get her trained on the boundaries, then things will fall
right in place. At this point, I and the kids walk her on the leash.
I don't want her to get spooked and run off. I do have ID tags on
her for our address, just in case.

Lucy has already perked up and is walking with a big sister
strut! She is showing Tash the ropes just as her big sister
Molly did for her. It is truly amazing. There was a big
breakthrough Saturday afternoon. Lucy jumped up and started
doing playful circles around the house and engaged Tash. It
meant to me, that Lucy said alright, you are cool. Tash started
to play and slid on the tile kitchen floor, got a little nervous from
that and play ceased. It was very sweet though.

I truly believe that she was meant to be with us. I have loved
animals, particularly dogs, my entire life. I can tell Tash is
going to be very special in our lives. God Bless you for your
efforts and the love you have shown to her. I wish you a Merry
Christmas and will stay in touch."
Bonnie (left) was adopted by her foster parents who are
realtors in the Lake Wateree, S.C. area. The family now
consists of Mom and Dad, 2 children, Bonnie and two Yellow
labs...Little Bear and Lily. Bonnie fit right in as the matriarch of
the younger pups. Living by the lake they get to splash around
all summer.

Clyde (right) was adopted by a young boy, Kyle, and his
Grandma who live outside of Great Falls, S.C. in August of
2005.  Kyle was looking for a buddy to walk in the woods with
him and Clyde fit the bill.
In November of 2005, Beauregard was adopted by a family in
the Charlotte, N.C. area.  Mom was wanting a dog that would
cuddle with her in bed. That evening, after a quick bath, Mom
was reading to her children and Beau joined them in Momma's
bed. Beau must have turned on the charm and has snuggled
his way into their hearts.
Shiloh was adopted in Feb of 2005; or actually, she adopted
them. A father and daughter came looking for a particular dog
and went home with Shiloh instead. Shiloh never traveled well.
That day, she rode home without incident with her head in
daughter's lap. Last correspondence, Shiloh was frolicking at
the beach house and loving every minute.

Thank you so much, Geri! It was so nice to meet you & Norman!
The baby it home safely & the babies are doing great. They were
so good on the way of them home, though they shouldn't have
been too surprised knowing how much I love animals. We will
take very good care of them. We decided to keep their names, but
will be tacking on Bear to Feisty's name. Their full names are now
Pooh Bear Hammond Graham & Feisty Bear Hammond Graham.
Thank you so much for letting us adopt them! I will send you
pictures of them as
they grow.

God bless you!

Hi Geri.  Just wanted to let you know that Boss is doing well and
he and Prissy have really adjusted to each other.  Steve and the
dogs were down at the water's edge yesterday and he said Boss
kept staring at his reflection in the water and finally jumped in.  He
said he swam about five feet out and then came back.  Said he
was really frisky afterwards.  I weighed him last night and I think he
weighs close to 18 pounds now!  He has really grown.  Were you
able to place all of her siblings?
Thanks!
Susan U. Jarrett

Hi, Geri!

Just a note to wish you Happy Holidays and to tell you that I love
my new home with Cathie and Bob.  We get along great, and they
have learned to obey my every command.  We take 2-mile walks
almost every day, and I enjoy my freedom in the back yard during
the day, followed by good food and lots of snuggling time with my
family on the sofa at night.  In fact, attached is a recent picture of
me in one of my favorite poses. My Mom and Dad have said that
they plan to send a donation to Animal Angels during the holidays.
Hope all is well for you.  A big ruf-ruf-ruf (ho-ho-ho) to you and your
family.
Katie Gleaves (as dictated to Bob)
This is a picture I took fathers day in the Mountains of NC.  Phil
with his daughter, Toni and 2 sons, Ben and Rufus-tee hee. Phil's
children flew in from Ft. Lauderdale and we spent a long weekend
in the mountains.  Rufus has been to grandfather mountain and to
Tennessee now.  He was a good boy.  He spent a weekend in
Hilton Head a couple of month ago with us and is spending the
weekend with my son, Jimmy, this weekend when we drive Toni
back to Florida.  Its a very long 10-12 hour trip each way. Jimmy is
taking him to "the river" with him-he can't wait.  He really loves
Rufus, too.
When Rufus went to have his pedicure a few days before father's
day he weighed 67 lbs.  Of course he is with us at all times.  He
stays on the screened in back porch or in the house at night and if
we have to go somewhere without him during the day he has a
nice size  shaded fenced in area with a dog house Phil built for
him and his swimming pool. We sure do love him.  Feel free to
give our email address to Rufus' brothers and sisters.
Just wanted to let you know that we are alive and well.  The fence
around the entire back yard was finished yesterday so today
Harley got to explore his new domain.  I have a glider in the back
yard and I sat down and of course he is right there.  Gradually, he
wandered off to explore, marked everything in his path.  He was
about 200 feet away and I called him.  He looked up like "oh my
goodness" and came running back.  He is so graceful when he
runs...more so than just walking.  He has had a good day.
Yesterday, I got a new runner for the hall and put it down when I
got home.  That really threw him a curve.  Wasn't sure that he was
supposed to walk on it and didn't want to come out of his
bedroom.  Today it's fine.  Just a rug.  He has also learned that you
don't run on hardware floors and take a turn at the same time.
Lord, he is a sight.
He seems to be doing fine but still has his moments of
uncertainty.  He does that shy thing.  He is such a wonderful
creature, and believe it or not I think he is getting used to the
garden hose.  He doesn't totally freak now.  He doesn't like it but it
doesn't seem to spook him.  That's a good thing because one of
these days he is going to need a bath.  We are walking a mile
every night and he is doing better with that.  He walks great on a
leash and if we don't run into anyone he just keeps right on
walking.  But he is so funny because when we get back home he
can't wait to get in the house and it's like Oh thank God I got
through it one more time.  That crazy woman makes me do that."
Hope you, Norm and the Kidz are doing well.  Hope I didn't bore
you with Harley stories.  He is just so comical.
Geri,

You would not believe how they have changed! Unfortunately, I
never seem to have a camera with me, but I will try to get some
photos to you next week.

Lady fit right in from day one. Lady is fully aware that she is the
"Queen" of the house. Our back yard is fenced, and that is also her
domain. We have woods that run up from the pasture. This affords
the deer a free roam up around the back fence to the woods
behind our neighbors.

The deer are a total affront to her dignity. She goes out at night and
runs up & down the fence line barking as the herd goes by. Other
nights, she is just sitting by her spot at the fence waiting for them
to appear.

Little Red had her named changed to "Bell"; She has long since
worn the bell off of her collar, but the name stuck. She was a
handfull at first. You may recall that we have the pasture and up to
the house with the invisible fence wiring. After about her 3rd month
with us, I tried her with a collar....Scared the poor dog to death, and
set her training back at least 6 months....long story short, she is
the only one of our "outside" dogs that has free roam. She sleeps
down stairs in our former home office. She normally comes in at
night, but on several occassions, she has elected to spend the
night out on the recliner on the patio.

Bell and Ginger (the shepard) have come to a mutual respect
position. They very often play together when I'm working down in
the pasture. Buster (our Boykin mix) is showing his age...it's
become very difficult for him to climb the hill from the house down
to the pasture so he is staying mostly around the patio.

Bell has really gown since we got her. She is as big as Ginger, but
she is one of the most docile dogs we have ever had; However, if
she senses any danger, or if a strange starts up the drive, she
quickly switches into her guard dog mode. I'm in the middle of
refinishing two charis on the front porch. She stayed with me the
whole time, and I must say that she cuts a grand figure sitting up
on her haunches; other times I would look over and she would be
stretched out on the warm pavement, without a care in the
world!....same place my original Ridgeback-mix used to lay!

Thanks for staying in touch!

Best Regards!
Steve
Hi Geri,
Bella is doing fine.  She is very smart and has a unique
personality.  She is not as large.  I suspect she is about 60lbs, if
that much. She is a very dedicated puppy and we all love her.  She
looks very much like a lab except her ears.
Hi, Just wanted to drop you a little note and let you know how Star
is doing.  She's really starting to adjust to my dad.  She was at the
vet's today and her eye is all cleared up and the incision is not
quite healed.  My dad has a medication that he has to put on it a
couple of times a day.  The vet does not seem to be very
concerned about it.  My girls and I were just at my dad's and we
were on the floor with Star. As soon as my dad got down on the
floor she went right over to him and climbed up on his lap.  He is
enjoying her company, she goes for two or three walks a day.  We
are trying to teach her to play with a ball.  I don't think she was ever
played with one. Poor thing, she just doesn't know how to play.
She is becoming acquainted with the dogs in the neighborhood.
My dad's neighbor has a Mastiff that visits them and he has been
over to see her, there were no problems.  I am going to introduce
my dog to her in a couple of weeks once she really knows that my
dad's house is hers, plus my dog injured his leg and is hobbling
around.  I will take my camera to my dad's and send some
pictures of Star to you.  Thanks again! I think Star will do my dad  a
world of good.
Hey Geri....

As I type, "Cody" a.k.a.Conan, is snuggled up into a ball with Chris
in the recliner and her majesty "Lady" is sleeping on the floor next
to my feet.  Both are worn out after "beating each other up" in the
middle of the living room floor.  Their brothers and "the kitty cat
brats" are used to them and now play, eat, and even sleep
together.  Teddy Bear (my "special yellow school bus boy") sneaks
into the cage with Cody whenever he can and the two will sleep
together (with the cage door open) when we are all watching TV.
Chris is head over heels in love with Cody and I think the feeling is
mutual.  Lady is practically surgically attached to my butt (which is
too cool).  The doxies live on the couch, Lady sleeps in my recliner,
and Cody has claimed Chris' really big recliner.  I guess Chris and
I will have to sit on the floor....  :)

Oh yeah, Cody rides everywhere with "Daddy" and Lady hops into
the vehicle with me whenever I have an errand to run.

The biggest fear I have is that they will become extremely spoiled
and rotten to the core.....  There is no hope.

By the way, I was at the pet store the other day and got a sample of
a new dry dog food called "Smart Balance" and it was the Duck
and Potato flavor.  It's all natural with Omega 3 and other vitamins.
Well, you would have thought I put wet food into the bowl.
EVERYONE loved it!!!  It even smelled good to me.  So, I'm going to
try mixing some of it with their Iams Senior.  I have no clue how
expensive it is, but if the kidz like it and it is good for them, well I
guess I'll have to get it for them.

Thanks so much for letting us be their new humans....  If you ever
get anyone who is EXTRA special (blind, deaf, physically
handicapped, or very old) let us know and we will give them a very
good home.  We understand what it means to be "different" and
especially love those who need a place where it's okay to not be
perfect.

Take care, write when you can, and please stop by at any time.

Lisa
Hey Geri- Lucille is doing great. She is getting the hang of the potty
training and is learning how to sit right now. We took her to the dog
park in winston salem today and she got to interact with some
other dogs. She was definitly scared at first, but seemed to get
used to it. Lately we have been taking her to a soccer field and
letting her run and play fetch. I am so glad that we got her, she
makes everyone so happy! Winston salem is good but I agree that
I miss the winter and the snow. I was wondering if you could send
me your address so I could send some things for you and the
dogs. If not that's ok too, I just made some homemade dog
buscuits that I thought the dogs would love. Have a great weekend.

To future applicants/owners:  the screening process and fee may
seem unnecessary, but this is a serious problem and she is only
looking out for the best interests of the future owner and his future
best friend. Even as her daughter, I didn’t get any special
treatment. If you do adopt one of these beautiful dogs, please
make sure that you give them everything that they need and you
will get a return 10 fold – a TV set, cable, or a case of beer will
NEVER give you that!
Geisha (left) was probably one of Geri’s first rescues about 6
years ago, when she was discharged from a family that didn’t
want her anymore. While they had her, she was abused by them,
but thankfully she ended up in the arms of Geri. Geisha was given
to me because she has trusted me from the first time we met and
I love her and enjoy her each and everyday. She fits in perfectly
with the rest of our animals, especially the cats.
I only wish that people would stop throwing away these precious
animals, but it is what it is and thankfully, there are people like
Geri that refuse to let this continue. I love you! T
Soxx and Erik  (right) first met the first time Norm and Geri met
Erik, my boyfriend. I knew the moment Soxx walked in the room he
was going home with us. As you can see, the two are a perfect
pair and Soxx is probably the best dog I have ever owned. Soxx is
the “general” of our pack – we have a total of 10 dogs, all of which
found their way to our home. He trains each one and makes sure
they maintain a peaceful environment.
"We are excited to announce the adoption of our new family
member...Miss Lucy Surles. Lucy was abandoned (fortunately for
her) near the home of some very dear friends of ours,  Bill and
Grace Black.  Bill and Grace fed, loved and cared for Lucy (along
with 2 other strays) for several weeks.....Then she was struck by a
car, while they were not home.  She was thought to be dead as
she disappeared for several days, and then appeared on Grace
and Bill's door, with a whiplash type injury.  They took her in, took
her to the Vet, and nursed her back to health.  Thanks to Grace
and Bill for their love! They then discovered an Animal Angel, Geri
Cutway.  Geri has a wonderful network and the ability to place
animals in good homes, and saving them. Geri is a special and
unique woman, devoted to saving dogs and currently has
26 that she has rescued.  Geri took Miss Lucy, nurtured her, has
gotten her spayed, shots and is ready for us to adopt her. If you are
interested in a pet who has not had the best of life before meeting
Geri and needs a nurturing and good home....pls visit
animal-angels.org.  There is also a place to make a donation to
Geri's efforts as most of the financial burden comes back to her.
So if you are looking for an awesome pet, visit the website...or if
you just want to open your heart, make a contribution."
Geri,
Thank you so much for the picture.  I am anxiously awaiting Gary’s
arrival at my office so I can meet my new baby!  I did call him about
12:30 p.m. and he said Ozzy (as we’re going to call him because
our son Jake will be able to say it better than Oscar) was laying in
the back enjoying the ride.  I can hardly wait!  Thanks you for being
so kind and for having this wonderful dog for adoption.  I will
definitely keep you advised of how he’s doing and will send
pictures.  We take a lot of pictures of our “kids.”
Ellie Mae was adopted by a young couple at Fort Jackson and is
doing well. I need to check back with them again.  They were
thrilled with the little fox

" I hope this email gets to you Gerry. My name is Autumn
Rodriguez my husband and I adopted Ellie Mae. I got your letter
and thought I'd send you an update on her. She is still doing great.
Getting smarter and smarter every day, and she still loves giving
lots of kisses. She has a new buddy to hang out with while my
husband and I are at work. That buddy is my sister's cat. At first, I
kept them separated, but the cat decided to escape and roam the
house freely. Luckily, Ellie Mae was a good girl (as usual) and they
both get along well. Thank you again for completing our family. I
am so happy to have her, and I know she is happy to finally have a
home."
Here are some cute pictures of Cassie. She is doing great. I took
her to get her shots, nails clipped and dipped for fleas and ticks.
Thanks for the wonderful addition to our family. We love love her
very much already!
Hi, we made it through the first night although he didn't each
much. (How much do you feed him a day?).He really does believe
he's a poodle. He wouldn't get out of my lap last night. He doesn't
seem to want to detach himself from my leg but I'm sure that will
fade once he becomes more comfortable here. You said he
stayed in a room by himself right? That didn't work. I put him in the
spare bedroom and he barked until I let him out. Then he decided
he should sleep in our bed. I did however win that battle. He is still
chewing on himself sometimes quite vigorously; do you think it
could be like a hot spot or something? We had a dog before that
had them at times. Anyway, he seems to be settling in; just
thought I'd give you an update.
Beau......now called "Boo". "..He is just what I wanted. He hugs and
cuddles and we all love him. ....Most of the time he is right there
where we (especially me!) are hanging out around the house.
He loves car rides too! He is a very loyal and special dog.  Thanks
for all you do !!!!"
Sincerely,   Georgia
Hi, Geri -- I just wanted to let you know how Imogene is doing. We
call her Emma, and she is a wonderful, sweet girl. She seems to
be really quite at home at this point and loves her daily walks.
She's been to the vets for a well-check and toe nail clip. The vet
proclaimed her a great dog! We are in the midst of obedience
training, and what a smart girl she is! She has learned hand and
voice commands for sitting, staying and coming. Of course, the
treats after each practice session make it a lot more fun. She also
loves to go into the yard with us and run, run, run back and forth
between me and Gary at full speed. Anyway, just thought you'd like
a progress report on this wonderful dog you shared with us.

Update - "Emma is fine. We walk everyday- usually a couple of
miles. I also try to get her to the local soccer field and/or park a
couple of times a week so that she can run like the wind - which
she does quite well! She has just completed her training and can
come on command and sit and stay and lay down and sometimes
stay laying down! We are getting an invisible fence for our front
yard so that she can run a bit more at home."
Hi Geri
We want to thank you for our new puppy.  He is so sweet.  We
named him Rufus.  Yesterday afternoon he watched the Carolina -
Clemson game (well he napped most of the time), played outside
and explored around, met our Chihuahua and our Chicken, Miss
Patty.  He wasn't real sue about Miss Patty.  My Daughter and son
in law and grandson (who is 14) came over to see him and
brought him some little chew biscuits.  We got the food he was
used to eating, puppy chow for large breeds, got his new food and
water bowls and a new toy.   Phil has been letting him ride in the
truck while he hauls straw and he is going with us this afternoon
to meet my mom.  He slept in our bed between us last night and
slept all night.  He only whimpered a little yesterday when he
wanted to go outside and has already decided he likes to lay in
front of the back door which is in our living room.  You have done
such a wonderful job.  He seems to be adjusting very well, playing
hard when we're  outside and cuddling with us when inside.  Phil
is taking him to meet our Vet tomorrow.  Phil wants to talk to Dr.
Houston and set up Rufus' health plan and have him
microchipped.  Thanks again for our new little baby.  We just adore
him. Linda
Geri,
Molly is about 35 pounds and I do not think she will get to much
bigger she really has slowed down, but i suspect she will have at
least one more growth kick. She is a very smart dog, and has
been pretty quick to learn things. I am very happy where she is at
and we are doing training later this year with petsmart so she can
hopefully expand her vocabulary. Again thanks for everything and
yes please send me the family that has Buddy email address. I
would love to contact them.
Hi Geri, Not sure what he weighs now. About 6 weeks ago he was
81 lbs. Jach loves to go to camp and swim with Hazel. He also
loves his pool. He loves to bury his treats outside in the woods, lol.
He is more andventerous than Hazel and loves to bark at us when
he wants something. Michelle
